I am Ramsey Carter. I was born to two designers and have spent my entire life surrounded by design and learning to appreciate the beauty in the world around me. I have pursued Industrial Design because I love the process of building and creating something meaningful. I am inspired by the beauty of products both in appearance and function, a consideration that I bring to every step of the process from sketching and hand modeling, to the final CAD and renders. My background in blacksmithing has also given me a strong understanding of 3D space and form and an appreciation for craft. I spent most of this semester working as an intern for the Workplace Innovation Team at Steelcase. While there I worked closely with Mark Mckenna, the Global Design Director of Workplace Innovation, on several products that were bound for NeoCon in June. On these projects I worked on a range of tasks from ideation and prototyping to CAD and Renders. After my internship was cut short by COVID-19 I returned to KU and began work on a short version of senior project.
