Sarah Soriano
Sarah is a Senior at the University of Kansas finishing her studies in Industrial Design and Art History. She was a member of the KU student chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and served as Senior Class Representative. She likes to focus on the technical side of design with a background in technology. She has experience in manufacturing products on a CNC mill, laser cutter, and more. She has picked up hobbies in woodworking and freelance design in her time at college. After graduation she is seeking a design position in an area that allows her to build and play with physical models such as lighting design, STEAM Outreach, or contract work at a design firm. During her time at KU, Sarah has been a proud member of the Marching Jayhawks and KU Basketball Band for four years. She spent two years as a member of leadership for the Alto Saxophone section. In her free time, she volunteers as a FIRST Robotics mentor and drive coach to the team she was on as a student in high school, FRC 1810. In robotics, Sarah guides high schoolers through strategic driving, electronic layouts, and in a variety of other areas as she knows how influential it can be to learn those skills at that age.
